Felix M. Charles Jr, 72 was called home October 1, 2022. He was born May 30, 1950, in Corpus Christi to
Parents Felix M. Charles Sr and Elida M. Charles.
He was proceeded in death by his loving parents and brother David M. Charles.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Diana R. Charles, a son Felix Jeremiah Charles (Emily Karlson), a
daughter Crystal M Charles-Najera, 4 granddaughters Trinity Najera-Godines (Wyatt Godines), Serenity
Najera, Danica Charles, and Diana Charles, 4 grandsons Jarek Najera, Dillenger Charles, Jayden Karlson
and Jacob Charles. Sisters Diana Charles-Gonzalez (Juan Gonzalez) and Patricia Charles-Leyba. Numerous
In-Laws, nieces, and nephews.
He proudly served and defended his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1969 through 1973.
During his service, he was awarded the following medals: National Defense Medal; Meritorious Mast (2)
Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. During his
service, he performed the following: Mechanical Fundamental 1970, Aviation Machinist Mate (Jet)
course 1970, Jet Engine Power Plants Maintenance course 1971, J79 Programmed Training Course 1971,
Vietnam Service.
After honorable discharge from the USMC, he was employed at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station from
1974-1976, Dupont from 1976-1991, and Oxychem – Occidental Petroleum from 1991 until his
retirement in 2016.
He enjoyed dancing with his wife, playing cards with family, Golf, fishing with his son and camping a
tradition he started with the family in 1982.
He was enjoying retirement, always keeping busy, spending his time at the ranch. He raised chickens,
ducks, enjoyed gardening. Always ensured "his honey-do's" were complete.
Public visitation will begin at 1:30 pm. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Guardian Funeral Home with an
evening service to celebrate Felix's life to begin at 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00
am. Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Primera Iglesia Bautista 1509 Tarlton Street, Corpus Christi, Texas
78415. Burial will follow with Military Honors at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
