Felipe Ybanez, 85, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.

Felipe was born February 8, 1935 in George West, Texas to Frutoso and Emilia (Alvarez) Ybanez. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Ybanez family ranch and talking to his family and friends on a daily basis. He was an avid fisherman and loved studying about animals, reading his bible and, talking about world affairs and politics to all who would engage him. Felipe especially loved hearing about the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Felipe is survived by his sisters Minerva Valverde, Elma Sarmiento, and Elia Wilburn all of Texas, and his children, Blanca Rodriguez (Ramon) of Florida, Robert Ybanez (Alba) of Texas, Margaret Walz (Tim) of Texas, Mary Gutierrez of Texas, and Judy Castillo (Rey) of Texas. Felipe was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lauro Ybanez, and his son, Mark Ybanez.

A mass and celebration of life service will be held at a later date with family and friends in George West, Texas
