Felipa Perez Minson passed away  peacefully at 89 years old on June 12, 2023 surrounded by family in Corpus Christi, TX.

Felipa was born in McFaddin, Texas on March 21, 1934. She grew up in the Woodsboro/Victoria, Texas area and  spent most of her adult life living in Taft, Texas.  Felipa was always "put together". She never left the house until her  hair, makeup and outfit were complete. Many of the dresses she wore were handmade, as she was a proficient seamstress.  This skill led to many jobs during her lifetime. She paved the way for showing her children the meaning of hard workover the years, many times working multiple jobs to support her family.

Many family and friends would describe her as a faithful woman with strong family ties.  She raised her children and many grandchildren, teaching them the benefits of working hard.  When Felipa was not working, she spent time with family and friends.  She loved to put on her boots and go out dancing. She  also had a green thumb and loved gardening and nature. Some of her favorite things were butterflies, hummingbirds and all kinds of roses.  We can't forget that she was a fabulous cook! Thanksgiving relleno, menudo and caldo were favorites among her family. She was also a big fan of going out to dine, Chinese food was a "goto" for her.

Felipa is survived by her sisters Guadalupe (Walle) York, Ynocencia (Chula) Trevino, 6 children - Ernest Hernandez Jr (Vicky).,  Judy Schiller, Edwin Hernandez (Liz), Yvonne (Javier) Gonzales, Noel Hernandez and Trey (Dallas) Minson. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Felipa is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Felicita Perez, her 2 sisters, Ramona Vela and Elvira Piehl,  her 2 brothers, Manuel A Perez and Leonardo O Perez  and her late husband Oscar Minson.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Del Cielo Hospice Staff, her caregivers Lori  and Blanca.  We would also like to thank Sara Ramos, Sylvia Navarro, Norma Zapata, Marisol and Joyce for making our loved one's transitions a smooth journey with their love and care.

Family visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and public visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Guardian funeral home with a Holy rosary and Celebration of Felipa's life to begin at 5:30 p.m.
