Feliberto "Beto" Castellanos was called home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of 74.
On December 2, 1949, Feliberto "Beto" Castellanos was born to Higinio and Eufemia Castellanos in Mercedes, TX. On May 21, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Esmeralda Gonzalez. Together, they shared a loving life for 53 years and raised four children: Dalia (Raul) Flores, Ernest (Sonia) Castellanos, Sarah Castellanos (Daniel Martinez), and Daniella Castellanos (Alejandro Ramirez).
Beto and Esmeralda were blessed with 13 grandchildren: Mercedes Castellanos, Andres Castellanos (Kathryn Zaragoza-Smith), Raul Rene Flores, Santana Cruz Flores, Marco Castellanos, Ismael Castellanos, Ryan Castellanos, Robert (Brooklyn) Ramos, Serenity Martinez, Aliza Martinez, Scarlett Martinez, Jaydyn Garza, and Jonathan Feliberto Castillo; and three great-grandchildren, Ayden Alejandro and Natalia Renea Loredo and Noelle Ramos. Five siblings: the late Lucia (Rudy) Gonzalez, Tonia Castro, Margarita (Gilbert) Gonzalez, the late Celia Castellanos, and Jose Castellanos, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Higinio and Eufemia Castellanos; his sisters, Lucia Gonzalez and Celia Castellanos; his parents-in-law, Benito and Sara Gonzalez; and his brothers-in-law, Benito, Abdon, Leonel and Rolando Gonzalez.
He worked for 20 years at Borden's Milk Company before his retirement. Beto loved fishing and never missed a night of WWE. He attended Nuestra Señora de San Juan de los Lagos Madre de Iglesia Catholic Church. As a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, he was always eager to lend a helping hand. He prayed every morning and night for his family, embodying his role as a devoted family man who cherished each moment with his loved ones. His family was his pride, and he left a legacy of love and devotion. And we can't forget—he was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers!
A public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 , at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening. Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Guardian Funeral Home, with the funeral procession departing at 9:15 a.m. for a 9:45 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
