Obituary

Eunice Coleen Rice Kehoe Lewis, 87, passed away in the company of family and friends at her Corpus Christi home on Monday to be with our Lord following complications with pneumonia.

She was a gifted pianist, and having been raised in a family of musicians, she kept that legacy alive by praising God through her playing at church on organ and piano, accompanying singers, teaching, and sharing her love of the gospel through music with her family. She never lived in a home without a piano and singing.

As one of her friends and pupils noted, "Coleen may be gone, but the song of her life and the sound of her fingers running across the ivory keys she so loved, will ring in our hearts forever. "

A 1950 graduate of CCHS, she attended Bethany Nazarene College and was a 1980 graduate of CCSU (TAMU-CC). She was listed in 'Who's Who of Educators' and taught elementary school with CCISD until her retirement.

Coleen is survived by her husband John Eddie Lewis, brother Coleman Myrle Rice, sister Deene Rice Felder, daughter Anna Kehoe Murphy and Mike Murphy, son Greg Kehoe and Sandy Kehoe, her grandchildren Colin and Molly Murphy, Brandon, Joseph, Samuel, Krista, and Courtney Kehoe, numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and several great-grandchildren. She was a devoted member and pianist of the First Church of the Nazarene, Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Gardendale Baptist Church, Central Christian Church, and was a current member and organist at St. Luke's Methodist Church at the time of her passing. Coleen was preceded in death by her father Coleman Rice, mother Eunice Rhodes Rice, brothers Eddie Jo and Luther Kent, and Jack Kehoe, the father of her two children.
