Estella Bolden West, 80, transitioned from this earthly realm to join her heavenly Father on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at her home in Corpus Christi, TX.
She was born on March 10,1939 in Brookshire, Texas, daughter of James E. Bolden, Sr. and Ceola Flemmings Punchard. She graduated from Roy Miller High School, and received an associates degree in Business from Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Early in her career, Estella worked at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station Base, Port of Corpus Christi, and later retired from Corpus Christi State School. Throughout the years she'd also enjoyed working alongside with her brother and mother on her mother's food truck serving the community and various functions in Corpus Christi, as well as catering functions with her mother.
Estella gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church. During her membership at SJBC, she was a good and faithful servant. Early on she was a previous member of the choir, and a member of SJBC Golden League.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters: Cassandra Y. Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Yvette L. Jackson (Frank) of Killeen, Texas. Brothers, James E. Bolden, Jr. (Vicki) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Bishop James Elvert Bolden, III (Cynthia) of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Half-Sister, Laura of Houston, Texas, and two Half-Brothers of Corpus Christi and Alice, Texas. Grandchildren, John Henry Mark Miller, and Jonathan Miller of Corpus Christi, Texas, DeAngelo Jackson (Allison) of Spring, Texas, Frank A. Jackson (Shakendria) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Marquis Q. Jackson (Julisa) of Nolanville, Texas, 10 great grandchildren; one niece; a host of nephews, cousins, and aunt Wilma Flemmings of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was predeceased by her husband Eddie L. West of Los Angeles, CA, parents, and sister Mae Frances Broughton, of Fort Myers, FL.
Wake service be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
