Esperanza (Hope) Otero was called home on August 31, 2024. She was born on November 3, 1943 to Pedro and Jovita Martinez in Banquete, Texas.

Esperanza was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family and living life to the fullest. She also enjoyed volunteering in various community events, cooking, and bingo.

Esperanza will be remembered for her smile, sense of humor, compassion, strong faith, devotion to family, and willingness to always lend a helping hand. She is preceded in death by her husband Felix Otero Jr and survived by her sons Victor M. Otero, Lorenzo Otero, Mario Otero, 9 grandchildren, and various great grandchildren.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories of Esperanza's life.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. at Guardian funeral home chapel with final viewing to begin at 9:10 a.m. followed by departure to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park cemetery.
