Mrs. Esmeralda "LaLa" De Leon, 74 years of age went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2025. Lala's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her loved ones and the joy she brought to all who knew her. She was a beacon of kindness and warmth, and her memory will be treasured forever.

Born to Ambrocio and Paula V. Vasquez, Lala grew up in a lively household with all her siblings. She carried the values of family unity and love throughout her life, creating a legacy of togetherness that will live on through her descendants.

Lala is preceded in death by her adoring husband, Carlos De Leon Jr., son Shaun De Leon, her parents Ambrocio and Paula V. Vasquez, brother Gilbert Vasquez, and sister Diana V. Longoria

Lala's spirit is carried on by her loving daughter, Gwen (Jason) Zuniga , and her son, Brandon C. (April) De Leon. She was the proud grandmother to Rosalin J. De Leon, Devine Flores, Shaun Flores, Emery Flores, Alexis De Leon, Aubrey De Leon, Jayce, and Jordan De Leon. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Noah Lugo, Zaylee Cumiford, Easton Cumiford, Ari Oliver Flores, and Joseph Jonathan Villafuente. She will truly be missed by her siblings, Pedro Vasquez, Alice Elizaldi, Grace Vasquez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lala's love for her grandkids and great-grandkids was unparalleled, and she dedicated her life to creating a world of happiness and security for them. Her In-laws, who were like family to her, held a special place in her heart, as did her friends from IRC in Corpus Christi, TX. Lala's relationships were built on mutual respect, love, and an abundance of shared laughter.

Throughout her life, Lala's kindness touched many lives. She was a friend to all, known for her generous spirit and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Her absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire.

LaLa will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. As we say goodbye, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless lives she enriched. Lala's memory will be cherished and her spirit will live on in the stories we share and the love we continue to give, just as she would have wanted.

Services to Celebrate Esmeralda's life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Guardian funeral home 5922 Crosstown Expressway in Corpus Christi, Texas. Public visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.
