Mr. Ernesto Proa Moran, 100 years and 6 months of age and passed away on May 9, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his father Francisco Proa, mother Celia Moran, brother Francisco Proa Moran, and son-in-law Gerardo Jimenez.

He is survived by his wife, Maria D. Proa, and sisters Concepcion Proa, Maria Proa, and Micaela Proa. Surviving children are Juan Ernesto (Yeyesing Menchaca) Proa Gonzalez, Ignacio (Irma) Proa Gonzalez, Gabino (Elia) Proa Gonzalez, Venancio (Janie) Proa Gonzalez, Cecilia Proa, John Miranda, and Crystal Amanda (Ryan Good) Proa. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and extended family. He was extremely proud of the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

Ernesto lived a long, full life filled with adventures and many travels. He had an immense thirst for life and experiencing all that it had to offer. He was a proud veteran of the Mexican military. After moving to the United States, he began working at Wal-Mart and met his wife whom he married on September 30, 2003. He retired from Wal-Mart in 2019 after 20 years of service.

Throughout his life he enjoyed cycling, participating in triathlons, weightlifting, and wrestling. One of his favorite pastimes was collecting and communicating via CB radios and meeting other CB radio fanatics. He loved nature and animals, especially dogs, which naturally gravitated toward his spirit. He held an especially close bond with his youngest grandson, Landon, the last years of his life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel starting at 4:00 p.m. with an Evening Service to be held at 6:30 p.m.
