Ernestina Gomez Rios passed away on July 13, 2022 after a long illness.

She was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 06, 1946 and was better known as "Tina".  She was married to Ramon Rios for 28 years and had four children, Imelda, Yolanda, Belinda and Ramon Jr.  After being widowed to Ramon she met her life partner of 30 years Antonio "Tony" Gonzalez.  She was also blessed to know and loved his two children, Tony Jr. and Sylvia.

Tina will be remembered by her infectious laugh, positive outlook and always had a listening ear.  She was known as "the favorite Tia" or "my Tia".  We will always remember her as the entertainment when playing left, right, center with the family, and her love and laughter will truly be missed. Her personality made her the life of the party and was usually the loudest person laughing in the room.  Her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys regardless of whether they were winning or losing.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents Tomas and Andrea Gomez, her brothers, Felipe, Cruz, Juan, Macario, Guadalupe Gomez and her sister Sophia Flores, along with her first grandchild Michael Justin Olivares.

She is survived by her brother Manuel Gomez, daughters Imelda Shull (William), Yolanda Olivares (Ernest), Belinda Rios, and her son Ramon Rios Jr.  Tina had eight grandchildren, Ernest Olivares Jr., Julia Olivares, Laura De La Rosa, Christopher Shull, Dyllan Moreno, Andrea Moreno, and Alexis Moreno.  She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren, Evan, Rio, and Lucas Olivares, Ian, Avery, and Noah Moreno, and Sebastian De La Rosa.

Pallbearers are Ernest Olivares Jr., Christopher Shull, Dyllan Moreno, Antonio Gonzales Jr., Frank De La Rosa and Michael Gomez.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, July 19th at Guardian Funeral Home from 830am-10:30am; the Holy Rosary will be recited at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00am and Funeral Mass will be at 11:30am. The Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park at 1pm.
