Ernestina 'Tina' C. Ortega. Tina went up to Heaven to rejoin her husband on October 28, 2013 who was taken early in their marriage. She was born November 29, 1931 to Anicito and Elvira Cardenas in Robstown, Texas.

Tina is preceded in death by her husband Magarito Ortega. Her two sons Gerald (Jerry) and Javier (JV) Ortega and her parents and numerous in- laws.

Tina is survived by her three daughters: Mirtha (Gilbert) Galindo their daughter Natalie, Maria (Roger) Jones, their sons Kenneth, Kevin and Kyle, Liz (Mark) Ortega-Ruiz their children Emily and John. Three brothers and one sister, Carlos Cardenas, Raul Cardenas, Elvira Banda and Nick Cardenas and numerous nephews and nieces.

Tina worked for CCISD for many years. She was also involved with all the school PTA and Band Booster for all her children. After she retired she enjoyed traveling. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She will be missed.

Visitation will be at Guardian Funeral Home chapel A 5922 Crosstown Access Road starting at 4:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Mary Mother of the Church, 1755 Frio St. A private Interment will be held at a later date.
