Erminia "Minnie" Garza passed away on February 18, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born and raised on Chapman Ranch in Corpus Christi, TX on May 19, 1946. Minnie enjoyed working as a demonstrator for Sam's Club for over 20 years, where she made great friends along the way. Minnie dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband Francisco Garza Jr. for 50 years. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family. Minnie's pride and joy were her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Minnie brought the family together with her love and amazing cooking. Minnie was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves, she would never miss a game.
She is preceded in death by Jose Maria Ruiz (grandfather), Carmen Ruiz (grandmother), Teodora Arreaga (mother), Cirilo Arreaga (stepfather) and Francisco Garza Jr. (spouse).
She is survived by her children David Garza, Abel Garza (Brenda), Frank Garza (Isela), grandchildren Abel Garza Jr. (Marisa), Ryan Garza, Ilianna Salazar-Garza, Eli Garza, great grandchildren Alanna Leigh Garza, Baby Sanchez, siblings Albert Alvarado (Olga), Lupe Alvarado (Linda), Elisa Erebia (Manuel), Israel Arreaga (Blanca), Elva Hoyt (Leonard), Armando Arreaga, and Janie Lopez (Michael).
She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories of Erminia's life. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Guardian Funeral Home starting at 8:00 a.m. with the funeral procession to depart at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church 3210 S Padre Island Dr. (SPID / Kostoryz). Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park cemetery. Followed by reception at Guardian Event Center located at 5813 Ayers St.
