Erminia Becerra, age 85, passed peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 21, 1941, Erminia lived a life rooted in faith, resilience, and devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lauro Becerra, and her son, Antonio “Tony” Becerra, whom she carried in her heart always.
Erminia is survived by her four children: Larry Becerra, Beatrice Becerra Mirelez, Albert Becerra, and Belinda Becerra. 

She leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Maria Karaca, Delilah Ayala, Chauntea Becerra, Guadalupe Garcia Jr., and Emily Becerra—as well as numerous great-grandchildren and one treasured great-great-grandson, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Raised in Mercedes, Texas, Erminia grew up alongside her 10 sisters and 1 brother, learning early the value of family, perseverance, and faith. A true fighter, she overcame breast cancer at the age of 50, meeting adversity with courage and unwavering trust in God. Throughout her life, she helped raise her grandchildren, offering steady love, wisdom, and guidance that will be carried on for generations.
Erminia found joy in dancing and listening to music, especially the songs of Ramón Ayala, which filled her home with rhythm and warmth. Above all, her faith and strength in God were the foundation of her life and continue to give her family peace and comfort.

The family finds solace in the words of Psalm 23:
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” — Psalm 23:4
