Eric Anthony Medellin passed away at the age of 56 on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 after
a long, hard fight against cancer. He was happily married to Corina Medellin who was his
partner in life for almost 33 years at the time of his death.
Eric was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1969 to Alfred Medellin and Maria Lupita. He
graduated from Richard King High School in 1987, and went on to serve in the US Navy for
21 years working on various ships, whilst seeing different parts of the world. He retired as
Chief AT in Corpus Christi, Texas. During his retirement, he obtained his Masters Degree in
Accounting and started his small business GoldenCrest Bookkeeping.

Eric cherished every moment he had with his family and made the most of every
opportunity to be together. He turned each holiday into something special to celebrate and
anticipate—from counting down the final seconds of the year, exchanging chocolates, and
pinching one another for forgetting to wear green, to painting Easter eggs, BBQing on the
Fourth of July, transforming the family home into a haunted house, cooking Thanksgiving
dinner side by side, and decorating the Christmas tree. One of his most treasured traditions
was sharing his annual Christmas Eve story, The Ratman Story.
Eric's creativity also shined through the many woodworking projects he crafted over the
years. A gamer at heart, he especially loved playing World of Warcraft. From his youth to
his final years, he found joy in fishing, but his greatest passion was writing music and
playing his guitars.

Eric is survived by his parents; his wife; his children, Andrea, Abigail, and Eric Medellin Jr.;
his sister, Elaine (Carlos Garcia); his brother, Freddy (Alyse Medellin); nieces, Krystal
(Brandon Berge), Mia and Jovi Medellin; and nephews, Charlie and Rico Garcia. He is
predeceased by his grandmother, Filomena Flores; and his grandfather, Alfonso Flores.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 starting at 4:30 p.m. at Guardian
funeral home chapel with a Holy rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be
Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic church
2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Coastal Bend
State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.
