Epifanio Soto, Jr. of 69 years passed away on the 17th day of March, 2018 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Originally from Brownsville, Texas Mr. Soto moved to Corpus Christi as a teenager. This is where he started his family and worked several years as an employee for Sam Hausman Meat Co. He was an easy-going man that made many friends throughout his lifetime because of his wit and ability to make people laugh. He was best known by those who loved him as, "The Borrego". Mr. Soto took pride in telling life stories and sharing his developed wisdom to anyone who'd listen. He appreciated the simplistic things in life and lived every moment to the fullest. Loved ones will always remember him as a laid-back soul, who relaxed on his porch for endless hours while dancing and listening to his favorite oldies but goodies music from the 50's.
He was preceded in death by his father, Epifanio Soto, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Juanita Soto, his only daughter, Isabel Soto, and three sons, Luis, Ismael, Edwardo (Angela) Soto, also survived by his mother, Rosa Soto, sisters, Maria Elena Salinas, Maria Guadalupe Montefu, Aurora (Aurelio) Velasquez, his bothers Marcial (Maria) Soto, Cleofas (Josefina) Soto, Arturo (Adelaida) Soto. He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren, and one great granddaughter, numerous nieces & nephews who take pride in carrying out the legacy of Mr. Soto and granting him his only wish of them to, "BE SOMEBODY".
Public visitations will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m.
