Encarnacion Acevedo Duran, Jr.

Encarnacion Acevedo Duran, Jr., 85, passed away January 19, 2014. He was born in Hebbronville, Texas on March 23, 1928 to Encarnacion Duran, Sr., and Elviria Acevedo.
He was born and raised in Hebbronville, Texas, and lived in Freer, Texas for about eight years before his illness. Mr. Duran served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. During his young age, he would travel all over the U.S. by hitchhiking, but as soon as he would get back home his family (nieces & nephews) were his priority. He would make a visit to each and every family. His favorite foods were tripas and enchiladas, with a cup of coffee. He was loved by everyone, he was a very humble person, who will be deeply missed and he touched many hearts.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Manuel, Jocquin, Adan and Guadalupe, a sister, Trinidad Valdez, brothers-in-law, Jesus Trejo and Inez Valdez, sister-in-law, Pablita Duran.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Guardian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans cemetery with Military honors.
