It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emilio Hernandez on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the age of 64. Emilio was a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and a father.

He leaves behind his daughters, Michelle (Jose) Valderrama, Joann (Salvador) Olivares Jr., and Vanessa Hernandez as well as his grandchildren, Antonio, Raymond, Esmeralda and Frances.

He is also survived by his siblings, Santos Alejandro (Joyce), Frank Garcia (Sandra), Ramon Casarez y Garcia (Isabel), and Guadalupe Mondragon (John). In addition, Emilio leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Hernandez and Olivia Garcia and siblings, Ramona Santos, Guillermo Alejandro and Luis Garcia.

Emilio was a simple man, who just enjoyed living his life doing the things that made him happy. A simple man, yet ironically, he left everyone always wondering why he wore a dime in his ear. In his younger age, Emilio spent most of his time working on cars, but he was especially passionate about old school Hot Rods. As he grew older, he grew a love for working on and riding bikes as well. He came across a vintage bicycle that he gifted his brother in hopes of refurbishing it and bringing it back to life. He enjoyed listening to music and making others laugh and he spent much of his life painting and helping his brother do construction work. He enjoyed biscuits from 19th street bakery, and he lived on 15th street so long that everyone around knew him, even the staff in the convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Emilio was many things, but one thing is for sure and that is that he is going to be missed by his family immensely. We will miss being able to pull up to Nana's house and watch him come out, ready and willing to do whatever for us.

Services will begin Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Guardian Funeral Home with a viewing from 11:00 am-7:00 pm with a talk to begin at 6:00 pm. Tuesday visitation continues at 9:00 am with his burial to follow at 11:00 am at Memory Gardens cemetery.
