Emilia Samaniego Wilburn, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on September 8th, 2021.

Emilia was preceded in death by her partner in life and loving husband, Joseph Alexander Wilburn whom she missed dearly every single day.

Emilia is survived by her three daughters, Yvonne Wilburn (Tim), Kyleen Santomauro (Mike), Michelle Sanchez (Ben) and a son-in-law, Steve Ortiz.

Emilia lives on in the memory of her ten grandchildren, Steven Ortiz, Brandon Ortiz (Queren), Megan Ortiz, Kyle Santomauro, Gunnar Santomauro (Megan), Benancio Sanchez, Michael Santomauro, Christian Sanchez, Alejandro Sanchez and Joaquin Sanchez, She was also blessed with two beautiful great-grandsons, Nathaniel Thomas and Sage Orion. Her girls and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy.

While a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, she became a member of the Guadalupanas. She felt very rewarded by volunteering and being of service to the community and her fellow parishioners.

She also spent many days and nights coaching and supporting her daughters in the Little Miss Kickball League.

Emilia was known to all for her radiant smile, giving nature and forgiving heart.

The Wilburn family would like to thank Dolores and the entire hospice team at Harbor Hospice Corpus Christi as well as Bridgette and the team at Cornerstone Caregiving for their loving care and support.

Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church;
Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
