In Loving Memory of Elva De Leon
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elva De Leon, who entered eternal rest on December 7, 2025, just days shy of her 78th birthday. Born on December 13, 1947, in Robstown, Texas, Elva led a life full of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She lived her life with passion and joy, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Preceded in Death By
Elva was the cherished daughter of Luis and Petra Rodriguez, Sr., who preceded her in death along with her beloved daughter, Leilani De Leon. She also mourned the loss of her siblings, Yolanda Rodriguez, Rosenda Ramon, Manuel Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, and Norma De Leon, to whom she was deeply connected.
Surviving Family
Elva is survived by her three adoring sons, Guadalupe De Leon, III (Teresa), David De Leon, and Luis De Leon (Linda), who were always her pride and joy. Her heart swelled with love for her great-grandchildren: Ben and Ava Flores, Juan and Mateo Trevino, Aayden, Julian, Mason, Gavin, and Harper Colsa, Damian De Leon, George Hartman, Saylor Winkler, Alysandria and Arabella Selby, Aria and Ayla Recio, who brought her boundless joy and laughter. Elva also leaves behind her siblings, Luis Rodriguez, Jr., Emma Casares, and Juan Daniel Rodriguez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Early Life
Throughout her life, Elva dedicated herself to the nursing profession, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and kindness. Her career was not just a job to her; it was a calling. She took immense pride in her work and the relationships she built with the patients she cared for. Elva's unwavering commitment to helping others exemplified her selfless nature and her desire to touch the lives of those around her.
Personal Life and Interests
A devoted member of Holy Family Church, Elva attended services regularly and often visited other Catholic parishes, finding solace and strength in her faith. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence, and she instilled the values of love, warmth, and compassion in her family.
Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Elva was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simplest of pleasures. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, she never missed a chance to cheer on her team, delighting in the excitement of each game. Elva loved preparing home-cooked meals for her family, creating memories filled with love, laughter, and togetherness around the table. Her passion extended to her plants, which she tended to with great care and patience, and her knack for shopping ensured she always had the perfect addition to her home and wardrobe, presenting herself with poise and grace.
