Elva was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and although she fought valiantly for two years she passed away on April 2, 2022, at the age of 68. She leaves her family and friends to remember her many life accomplishments and her courageous spirit.
Elva was born on January 12, 1954, along with her twin sister Elda, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She grew up surrounded by her large, loving family, she had 3 sisters and 9 brothers. Elva was influenced by her family to be an amazing, strong and caring woman.
She was a devoted and dedicated mother to her daughter Jessica. She especially loved her role as Grandma. Her grandchildren, Evan and Ian were her world and she was very proud of them.
Elva was adored by her family and friends and always made everyone laugh. She was very close to her numerous nephews and nieces and always treated them as one of her own.
She loved cooking for her loved ones any chance she got and enjoyed dancing. Along with dedicating her life to her family, she worked at Driscoll Children's Hospital for 40 years. Where she was loved for her outspoken, direct, and humorous personality.
"We know that we can't have you but we're happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye for now to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother."
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Cecilio and Lucila Gonzalez; her brothers Eduardo "Lalo", Marco Antonio "Tono" and Jose "Pepe" Gonzalez.
She is survived by: her daughter Jessica M. Alcoser (Michael Rodriguez); her Grandsons: Evan and Ian Rodriguez; Sisters: Elda Gonzalez, Mary Gonzalez, and Lucy (Raul) Escobar; Brothers: Cecilio (Sara+), Carlos (Mague), Jaime (Viola), Lazaro (Irma), Mario (Mary), Oscar (Janie) all proudly bearing the Gonzalez last name; Sisters-in-Law: Frances (Eduardo+), and Juana (Marco Antonio+); along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and Special friends/coworkers from Driscoll Children's Hospital.
Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel A, 5922 Crosstown Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78417; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening.
Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Guardian Funeral Home, procession will depart at 8:15 a.m. to Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church, 1101 Bloomington St., Corpus Christi, TX 78416 for an 8:45 a.m. Funeral Mass.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St. Corpus Christi, TX 78408 at 10:00 a.m.
