Obituary

Eliza Rodriguez Lopez, age 59, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Juan & Armandina Rodriguez “Liza” as she was known as a devoted mother, grandmother and a loyal friend. She dedicated her life to her children and created a warm, loving home. She was a beacon of strength, love and resilience.

Eliza grew up in the westside of Corpus Christi, where she attended Lamar Elementary, and Roy Miller High School, and worked at D & J Taco, a family-owned business, in the Molina subdivision for many years, and was currently employed with the City of CC. Outside of work, she spent her days with her kids and grandchildren creating memories with selfies. Liza was known for her excellent baking and cooking skills. No one will ever forget her famous pan de polvo. She was a devoted sister and had a heart of gold and always put others first before herself.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Lopez Jr. , John Erik Lopez ( Lisa) , Joseph Lopez ;grandchildren, Jimmy Lopez III, John Erik Lopez Jr, Jasmyne Lopez, Ramiro Saldana, JuliAnna Lopez, Paris Lopez ; great -grandchildren John Erik Lopez III , Siblings Terrie Rios (Daniel) Annie Hernandez ( Vince ) Rene Rodriguez ( Patrica) Priscilla Hernandez ; nephew and nieces Johnny Rios, Belinda (Kelly) Schaeffer, Joey (Belinda ) Trevino, Jennifer Coats, Ernest (Vanessa) Perez, Rebecca Hernandez, Vanessa Hernandez, David Hernandez, Arriana Hernandez; aunts and uncles Carlos Rodriguez, Dora (Ronnie) Munoz ,Mari Siegmund, Mary Lou Rodriguez , Rose Lopez ,Lopez In-law family, great nieces and nephews ,and a wide circle of friends who became family.

Eliza is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Armandina Rodriguez; husband Jimmy Lopez; uncles Joe Rodriguez, Bobby Rodriguez, Pedro Lopez, Manuel Rodriguez, Archie Siegmund; aunts Anita Rodriguez, nephew Tony Trevino III ; cousin Mark Rodriguez, Monica Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez

The Holy Rosary will be Recited on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30am.

Guests are encouraged to wear pink colors in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Lisa is loved and will forever live in our hearts and memories. Her legacy is one of love, loyalty and her children, and the belief that every day holds a reason to smile.
