Elisa Melendez, 86, was called home to be with Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2024.  She was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Licha, as she was dearly called, was born on October 3, 1938, in Corpus Christi, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Belia Mondragon, her brothers, Manuel and David Mondragon and her sister, Elvira Villa.  She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alice Izaguirre and her sons George (Janie) Melendez and David Melendez, her granddaughters Laura (Robert) Klein of Pipe Creek, Texas; Melisa Izaguirre of Boerne, Texas; Esther (Jordan) Parker of Boerne, Texas; her grandsons Waldo Garcia and Jeremy Melendez.  She had six great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jaymin and Jonah Klein, James and Eleanor Parker, and Waldo Garcia III.

Elisa loved the Lord and served for over 30 years as a Pastor's wife, alongside her husband. She enjoyed all things Mary Kay,  and being a beautician, which she did for over 70 years. She loved her morning breakfast at Whataburger and chatting about all things makeup and hair.

Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Public visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Guardian funeral home chapel with an Evening Service to be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continue on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Guardian funeral home starting at 9:00 a.m. with a Devotional to begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Memory Gardens cemetery.
