Elidia L. Esquivel, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and now, our guardian angel, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 26, 2018 at the age of 91.
Born in Corpus Christi, Texas to her parents Candelario and Manuela Lopez on April 21, 1927.
Elidia graduated high school from Corpus Christi High (Roy Miller) Class of 1948, and then attained her Vocational Nursing Degree from the Del Mar College Nursing School.
Elidia would go on to marry the love of her life Ramiro L. Esquivel on April 8, 1955 and dedicated her life to her family and her faith.
From the opening of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church parish on Hiawatha St, she served there for over 45 years.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, and her siblings Fermin, Fernando, Ramon, Ruben, Estella, Linda, Lola, and Hortenica.
Elidia leaves behind, to cherish her memories, her husband of 63 years Ramiro L. Esquivel, Sr., sons:  Ramiro (Thelma) Esquivel, Jr., Andrew (Chris) Esquivel, Jesse (Debbie) Esquivel,  daughter: Cynthia Esquivel ; three special members of the family she raised as her own children: Joe Esquivel (brother-in-law), Michael Lopez (nephew) and Caroline Esquivel (granddaughter).
G randchildren: Vincent, Caeli, Brigette, Eric, Rebekah, Ramsey III, Ashley, Carol, Stephanie, Jesse; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Public Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 30 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening at Guardian Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church 3350 S Alameda St, Burial to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 Access Road.
