IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edwardo Cumpian
Rivera
May 3, 1987 – July 5, 2021
It's with great sadness; the Rivera-Cumpian Family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend Edward C. Rivera. He passed away on July 5, 2021, at age 34 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Edward was born May 3, 1987, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Olivia Cumpian, his son E.J. Cumpian his daughter Emma Cumpian, his mother Peggy Lee Cumpian, his father Frank Rivera, brothers: Michael (Ariel) Rivera, Jacob (Miranda) Rivera, Matthew Rivera, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
Edward spent the first 3 years of his life in Amarillo, Texas. He was the family's first grandchild and nephew. He was loved by all who met him, as he touched everyone's hearts with his infectious smile and demeanor. At the age of 3, his parents moved back to Corpus Christi, playing numerous sports growing up. Edward was always that child up at 6 am, always ready to start his day. He loved sports; he played youth baseball and middle school football, track, and basketball. In high school, Edward would become involved in the school choir and golf. Edward loved to dance, sing, and always up for just about anything fun. He always wore the biggest smile on his face. He was often the life of the party and the heart of his cousins.
Edward went on to marry the love of his life Olivia and had two amazing children. He was a family man who worked hard to provide for his family. He was a hard-working mechanic by trade, which he often credited his "Pops" for teaching him. He was always grateful to his mother, whom he loved dearly. He was adventurous and loving, which was attributed to his mother. He enjoyed spending time with his son, his best friend. He was always teaching him how to be a young man. In the family full of boys, Edward fathered the first girl, his daughter Emma, who brought out Edward's even more tender side.
You are loved by so many Edward. We love and miss you dearly.
