Edmund J. Alvarez passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 67.

He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to his parents Ildefonso and Alice Alvarez on November 29, 1954.

Our beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend is now at rest. Even in the midst of adversity his spirit always remained filled with hope and joy. The happiness and love which he freely gave to us will live in our hearts for generations to come.

Edmund is joined now in heaven by his parents Ildefonso and Alice Alvarez; two sisters: Cynthia A. Gonzales and Rosemarie A. Barrera; and brother-in-law Robert Olivarez.

He is survived by his sisters: Norma A. Olivarez and Melinda A. (David) Bassett; brothers: Arthur J. (Donna) Alvarez, Daniel (Valerie) Alvarez, and David (Elsa Zepeda) Alvarez; nieces and nephews: Rita (Mark Macias), Michael, Aaron, and Thomas Olivarez, Chloe and Julian Pena, Blaise Alvarez, Alexander and Abigail Bassett, Joshua Downs and Anthony Macias.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at the Palms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care and support they provided to Edmund.

Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening

Funeral procession will depart from Guardian at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 for a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church 3210 S. Padre Island Dr. Corpus Christi, TX 78415.

Burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408 , where he lay to rest beside his parents.
