Duane Allen Hanson of Zapata, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born December 24, 1938.

He grew up on a family farm in Preston, Minnesota.  He was able to escape the snow and freezing temperatures by joining the military which allowed him to travel and live all over the world.  He also lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana as well as Guam, England, California and Taiwan. He eventually moved with his family to Corpus Christ, Texas. He came for the sunshine, warm weather and to start his second career at CCAD in the civil service after retiring from 22 years of service as a Master Seargant in the United States Air Force.

Duane was preceded in death by Patricia Annett Hanson. He is survived by his children, Marjorie Alison Gunter, Lorna Laraine Haynes, Duane Allen Hanson II, Connie Denise Brown, Joe Dennis Cliffe II. His brother's Darrell Wayne Hanson and Steve Leonard Hanson as well as 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Duane will be remembered as a hard working, sweet, loving brother, husband, father and "papa". He was known for having alot of fun, laughing and dancing with all of his friends. He had an appreciation of life and contagious smile.

A military memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5th 2 pm at Restland cemetery 1001 U.S. highway 77A N Yoakum, Tx 77995.
