Mr. Douglas M. Williams passed away on February 7, 2024 at the age of 80.  Douglas was born January 1, 1944 in Luling, Texas to Will & Oneida Williams.  He later graduated from Rosenwald High School in Luling, Texas then promptly went on to pursue and earned a College Degree at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas.

Following college, Douglas then joined the United States Peace Corp where he served in the country of India for 2 ½ years providing guidance, leadership, and education directly effecting the agricultural growth of their local economy. After hisreturn to the states, he championed several careers in helping disadvantage people, and was very active in the Civil Rights Movements of the 1960's and 70's.

As time advanced, he later retired in 2013 from the State of Texas with Child Protective Services, where he was very determined to protect and assist "every family & child" he came across. Furthermore, Doug enjoyed his hobbies of fishingand gardening, sharing the fruits of his labor with everyone. He just loved meeting new and old acquaints talking up a storm on any subject.  Mr.Williams will be missed but his presence and work will always remain around us.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Will & Oneida Williams, sister Stella McVea, and brothers Henry and Louis Williams.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Diana Williams, son Douglas O. Williams, daughter Oneida D. Williams, brothers Curtis andWillie Williams, and numerous nieces & nephews.

There will be a Visitation at Guardian Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 13th from 9-11am with a Chapel Service to be held at 11am. The Burial will follow at 1pm at Seaside Memorial Park.
