Obituary

Douglas Ingremar McGibboney, age 65, passed away on September 4, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on January 9, 1961, Doug lived a life that touched the hearts of those fortunate enough to know and love him.

While Doug never forgot his family and friends in Houston, Texas, or the love and connection he shared with them, during his years living in Corpus Christi, Texas, he built friendships that grew into something much more. His closest friends became his Corpus Christi family—not by blood, but by choice, love, loyalty, and the many years and memories they shared together. To Doug, these weren't simply friendships; they were bonds that became an important part of his life and the family he created around him.

Doug was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. If someone needed him, he was there, offering his time, his knowledge, or simply whatever he could do to help. He was someone you could count on, and his willingness to be there for the people he cared about was one of the many things that made him so special.

Doug was also a wonderful storyteller. Hearing him retell stories from his younger years was always a good time. He had a way of telling a story that could have everyone in the room rolling with laughter, no matter how many times they may have heard it before. Those stories, his laughter, and the memories he shared will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who knew him best.

Whether you called him Doug, Top Cat, Toppie, CoCo, B-Law, Dougy Fresh, or one of the many other names he collected along the way, one thing remained the same—you called him friend, and he called you family.

Doug left this world knowing he was loved and knowing he would be deeply missed by each and every one of us. While those who loved him were not ready to say goodbye, there is comfort in knowing that Doug is now at peace and no longer hurting.

Enjoy your journey, my friend. Go pain-free, knowing you were loved, you made us laugh, and you left us with memories we will carry forever.
