Obituary

Dottie Yvette Sheppard returned to heaven on May 27, 2020 at the age of 67.
She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 17, 1952 to her proud parents Riley Sheppard and Johnnie Mae Daniels.
Being one of ten siblings, Dottie knew of the work it took to succeed and in return taught her children to be strong, loyal, independent and caring. She dedicated many of her early years to the hospitality industry; working at several hotels and also as a provider. She was a proud graduate of Solomon Coles High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dottie was a loving person who adored her kids, grand-kids, and siblings very much. She would do anything for anyone; If you were hungry call DOT, if you needed a place to stay call Dot. You could always put on a smile on her face with some good chicken and well cooked fish. If she was mad at you, simply offer her a bite to eat, and that would change her whole mood. She will be remember as having a great sense of humor and in her words, "I don't mean No harm", is what she would say, if someone took her words the wrong way. The spirit of her love will live on in many hearts, for generations to come.
She preceded in death by her mother Johnnie Mae Daniels; father Riley Sheppard; three brothers: John Daniels "Big Daddy", Eddie Mcarthy, and Brad Daniels; one sister Quinette Sheppard; husband Robert Scott.
Dottie leaves to cherish her memories her three daughters: Lynette Mathews (Houston, Texas), Robbie Lynell Sheppard (Corpus Christi, Texas), Tina Sheppard Carson (Corpus Christi, Texas); nine grandchildren: Khalen Johnson (24), Cine'Lewis (21), Kameryn Mathews (19), Taylor Mathews (18), Ja'khara Stafford (14), James Stafford (13), Acacia Carson (11), Dominique Richardson (9), and Sincere Richardson (5); three brothers: Billy Joe Daniels (Dallas, Texas), Larwence (Neciey) Daniels (Corpus Christi, Texas), Karl Williams (Houston, Texas); two sisters: Dennifer Sheppard Brown (Dallas, Texas) and Carloyn (ya-ya) Daniels (Corpus Christi, Texas); along with a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
