Dora G. Perez, age 74, passed away on May 23,2014 at her home in Corpus Christi with her family by her side. Dora was born on August 23, 1940 in Refugio, Texas to Jovita and Carlos Lucas Garcia. She graduated from Incarnate Ward in 1958. From 1963 to 1972 she was a hairdresser who worked for Johnny Stevenson at Lindale Beauty Salon, and was a business woman from 1972-1998.

Dora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was an inspiration to her family. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her kind heart and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Carlos, Pablo, Nick and David Garcia; and two sisters Tina Roberts, Mercedes Garza and Maria Garcia.

She is survived by her husband Isidro Perez II; two daughters Jovita Doreen Lowry and Tina Darlene Lowry-Silvas (Joseph); five grandchildren Desiree, Richard, West, Tiffany and Tierney; five great grandchildren Sierra, Serenity, Mia Celeste, Ricky and Victoria. Her siblings Connie Tudon, Alex Garcia, Robert Garcia, Gloria Reyes and three sister-in laws Hilda Garcia, Tonasa Garcia and Josefina Garcia and many nephews and nieces and their wonderful families.

My grandmother often thanked God because she lived a happy life being a grandmother and great grandmother, she said my cup runneth over many times.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at Angel Bright especially Joe, Kevin, Nicki and Monica. We are also thankful for Dr. Bill and Mary Albarado, Dr Pop Moody and Mary Bustlett.

A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 710 S. 19th. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Joseph catholic church. A Reception will follow at the Guardian Hall 5813 Ayers St./Carolyn.
