Obituary

Dora L. Garcia

Our beloved mother, grandmother, Dora L. Garcia, 90, was received into heaven by our Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Gramma Dora was born on September 12, 1924, in Realitos, Texas. She is now happily reunited with her parents Arturo Leal and Leonor Gonzales Leal, her husband, Israel Garcia, Sr., her son Israel Garcia, Jr., her son-in-law, Humberto S. Leal, her Brother, Reynaldo Leal, and her Sister, Delia Landin, all of whom preceded her in death.
Left behind to carry on her legacy of love and to cherish her memory are four daughters, Maria Leonor Leal, Anita Isabel (Roberto) Fuentes, Maria Teresa Simms, and Dora Ann Garcia; two sons, Daniel (Ester) Garcia and Abel (Diana) Garcia, 27 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom's first priority was always and above all, her family. Her entire life was spent providing not only abundant and unlimited love, but in many cases, sustenance and shelter for those of us in need. Mom's house was a gathering place for the entire family, where all generations of us gathered to celebrate Christmas Eve and other holidays or occasions and meet the new additions to the family. She demonstrated and passed on to all of us, a legacy of love, generosity, and unity which will remain with us long after today.
