Following his discharge from the Army, Don and Janie moved to Riverside California where Don worked for National Life Insurance Company. Their son Blake was born in Riverside California on June 23, 1972, and was the light of their lives. The family then returned to Columbus Ohio to be close to family where Don continued working for the National Life Insurance Company until he went to work for the Army Reserves. In 1982, Don and Janie sold their home in Grandview Ohio and purchased a Stanley Steemer franchise in Corpus Christi Texas which they operated successfully together for 21 years until they sold the business in 2003.

Don gave his life to Christ in 1973 at a friend's home in Riverside California and his faith sustained him throughout his life. Don and Janie Mosley are members of Second Baptist Church of Corpus Christi for many years enjoying Sunday School, the fellowship of many friends, and their church family.

Don Mosley loved his family maintaining a close relationship with his brother Gary and sister Glorine throughout his life. He loved to laugh, had a great sense of humor, and spent many long nights playing cards, drinking coffee, and enjoying dessert together with his wife and family. He was delighted at the birth of his beautiful granddaughter Zoe and enjoyed her immensely.
