Domingo Valdez Jr, 84 of Tynan, Tx passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his wife Anita G. Valdez for over 65 years and a loving father to his 4 children, grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He dedicated his life to caring for others and will be remembered for his warm kindness and unwavering commitment to his family.
Domingo graduated from Roy Miller H.S. After graduation he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. Domingo later retired from Rainbow Bakery Co. after 25 years of service. Domingo's favorite past times were spending time with his wife , children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at family gatherings, barbecuing, vacationing, picnicking and spending time outdoors.
Domingo was a devoted catholic, a 4th degree district deputy in the Knights of Columbus, Eucharist minister, usher coordinator and prayer group member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Domingo is preceded in death by his loving parents Domingo Valdez Sr. & Ascension Garza, his 5 sisters, Alice Cuevas, Delfina Lozano, Theresa Flores, Lilly Valdez, Aurora Castillo, his daughter Baby Anita Valdez and his nephew Manny Childress.
Domingo is survived by his wife Anita G. Valdez, their children Sandra Gutierrez (Erasmo Gutierrez Sr.), Sylvia Mondragon (Albert Mondragon Sr.), Armando Valdez and Sonya Trejo (Michael Trejo), his 5 grandchildren Erasmo Gutierrez Jr., Cassandra Vargas, Albert Mondragon Jr., Daniella Sanchez, Daniel Mondragon and his 8 great grandchildren, Alyssa Gutierrez, Alena Gutierrez, Alejandra Gutierrez, Erasmo Gutierrez III, Diego Vargas, Noah Vargas, Yariela Vargas and Joseph Aleman. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and his pet companion and best friend Paco.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Domingo's loved ones, The Knights of Columbus and also St. Joseph church, clergy, Father Ogie, Deacon Rey Rojas, Deacon JC Ayala and prayer group for their unwavering support and prayers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th at Guardian Funeral Home from 5 -8pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm . Visitation will continue on Friday, January 10th at 9am and we will depart in a formal Funeral Procession at 11am and go to St. Joseph's Catholic Churc h 710 S. 19th. St. for a Funeral Mass at 11:30am . Burial will follow at 1pm at Rose Hill Memorial Park .
