Dolores
Garcia
March 3, 1945 – June 19, 2023
Dolores Garcia, "Loli" as she was intimately known, was called home to be with Our Lord on June 19, 2023 at the age of 78.
She was born on March 3, 1945 to her parents Crisoforo and Eusebia Garcia in Premont, Texas.
Growing up she received very little formal education due to the many hardships the family endured. With the will to succeed, she humbly worked in the Premont Nursing Home for over 49 years. Dolores never married or had children. After her father passed away in the late 1960's, she became the head of household for her mother Eusebia and her sister Janie; making sure that they were always taken care of. In this motherly role, she worked tirelessly to provide her sister with the education she never had. Even after Janie was married, Dolores still continued to provide for their mother until her passing in 2005.
She graciously loved her nieces and nephews more than words can say, loving them as if they were her very own. If ever one wanted to see an old photo of themselves all they had to do was call aunt Dolores; if you gave her a photo she was sure to keep it safe. After her retirement from the nursing home, she took time to enjoy the simple things in life like sitting outside feeling the breeze of the day or watching her daily scheduled novelas! When she was physically able, she found peace in attending Mass at St. Theresa's in Premont and spending quality moments with her friends and family at the local restaurants.
Dolores will be remembered for the kindness and generosity which she gave to so many. Our hearts are heavy as we bid farewell to her beautiful soul, but we are comforted in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior.
With grateful hearts we send our appreciation to everybody who showed her love and made her feel special throughout her life; in any way you cared for her, we thank you sincerely.
Dolores is joined now in her heaven by her parents; her siblings: Paulino, Angelica, Consuelo, Roberto, Fernando, and Homero.
She is survived by her sisters: Odilia Pena, Elpidia Sanchez and Janie (Oscar) Martinez; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she cherished.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Max Palacios, Cris Garcia, Rogelio Martinez, Bobby Garcia, Yuma Martinez, and Omar J. Pena
All Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Premont, Texas; Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. that morning. Burial will follow in the Premont Cemetery - South Side, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents.
After the conclusion of the burial, a reception will follow at the Saint Theresa's Parish Hall, where the family will provide a meal.
