Obituary

Dino Christopher Rios
Corpus Christi, TX

Our beloved, Dino Christopher Rios, 44, was embraced by our Heavenly Father into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 18, 2014 at Methodist Heart Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He fought a courageous and arduous battle with congestive heart failure. With his parents, Doroteo "Kino" and Chris Rios at his side and the devotion of his loyal wife, Sandra, we were blessed to have Dino in our world for almost two more beautiful years.
Dino was born to Doroteo "Kino" and Chris Rios on October 17, 1969 in Kingsville, Texas. Together, they raised a son who would grow to become a man who was affectionate, loving, friendly, sensitive and hard working. He was also a compassionate and selfless person. He blessed their family with so much love and laughter. He often talked fondly of all of his childhood memories.
Dino was a graduate of Mary Carroll High School and attended Corpus Christi State University. He worked as coach in the Corpus Christi Independent School District. Later, he went on to work as a Latchkey Coordinator for the City of Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Division. Finally, he ended his professional career at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi as a Transcript Evaluator. He had an incredible work ethic and tried to continue providing for his family even during his declining health.
Dino married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Estrada on July 22, 1995. He blessed her life with his sense of humor and unconditional love. They have two children, Dino Javier "D.J." Rios and Alexandra Anne Rios. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. Dino enjoyed coaching his son's baseball teams and baking with his daughter, "his princess". He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dino was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by his loved ones who preceded him in death: paternal grandparents, Natividad and Alicia Rios, maternal grandparents, Jesus and Emily Valverde.
Survivors who will go on to honor and cherish the memories of Dino Christopher Rios are:
