Obituary

Diane Munguia Cantu, born in Robstown, TX, and raised in Corpus Christi, was loved by many. She passed away not alone, but surrounded by love on November 28, 2020. Although she is very missed, her family knows she is rejoicing in the heavens, our loss is her greatest reunion. She joins her mother, Elodia Munguia, Grandmother Luz Pena Tijerina, and many others whom she loved dearly.

Always one to help others no matter what, she was selfless and always had more love in her heart to give. A tomboy to the core, Diane loved football and fishing - fishing trips with her grandkids were her fondest memories made over the years; ones that her husband, children and grandchildren will always hold dearly in their hearts and memories.

There are no words to fully describe how much Diane meant to her family and friends. She is unique in all the ways she loves and cared for her family. She was always dependable when asked for help no matter how big or small, family, friend or stranger. Though stubborn as a mule, her humor made for many, many laughs shared amongst others, her smile would brighten every room she walked into and her personality is unmatched in every way. Her remarkable ability to love, and spread her love might've been unbeknownst to her, but has never been overlooked by her family, friends, or anyone whom she met throughout her life. Her love and memory is carried on by all who knew her.
Though her time on earth was short lived, she was married to her soulmate, Raymond G. Cantu, for 41 wonderful years. She was a life-long, proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - her love for the church and our Heavenly Father is unconditional.
She was a proud graduate of Roy Milly High School, class of 1978 and lived by the slogan: Once A Buc, Always A Buc!

She is survived by her husband, Raymond G. Cantu, her sons, Adrian (Graciela) Cantu, Daniel (Erica)Cantu, daughter, Rebecca Cantu, and her grandchildren, Kassandra Cantu, Daniel Cantu Jr., Adrian Cantu Jr., Sydney Cantu and Kaitlyn Cantu, her father, Daniel V. Munguia, and siblings, Daniel Munguia Jr., Rocky Munguia, Lucy Ortiz, Joann Sanchez and Rudy Munguia.
Public visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Service to begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Memory Gardens cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Adrian Cantu, Daniel Cantu, Adrian Cantu, Jr., Daniel Cantu, Jr., Paul Savoy, Bennett Savoy, Honorary pallbearers are Leo Montano, III and Rudy Munguia.
