Diana Lynne (Baumchen) McMorris, Age 68, of Byron Michigan and Corpus Christi Texas, passed away March 18, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
Diana was born November 1, 1956, in Durand Michigan, the daughter of Herman Leroy and Patricia Ann (LaMay) Baumchen. Diana graduated from Durand High school class of 1975. Following high school, she was the first woman to be inducted into the 144th MP company in Owosso, Michigan, where she dedicated 31 years of her life to her country and service. It is where she met the love of her life Steven Rae McMorris. Diana married her husband on October 28, 1977. Steve and Diana were married 47 years, and raised 4 children.
Diana was very dedicated and active in her Catholic Faith. She was a volunteer Sunday school teacher for a good portion of her life. Instilling her faith in the children she taught. Diana had a great love for her family, showering them with love and friendship. She had a passion for crafts, and often gifted her children and grandchildren with these homemade treasured gifts.
Diana is survived by her husband, Steve and their children; Heather (David) Wheeler, Jennifer Chadwick, Steven (Rachael) McMorris, Angela (Jason) Martinez, and Ashley (Kunle) Adebiyi; Her grandchildren; Jason Jr., Cody, Dominic, Ashlynne, Landen, Katelynn, Naomi, Sara, Micah, Makayla, Markus, Mckendrik, Myles, Seunre, and Lyin. Great grandkids; Jayce, Jade, Alice, CJ, and Alexzander. And her siblings, Richard (Donna) Baumchen, John (Debbie) Baumchen, Patrick (Holly) Baumchen, and sister-in-law Vicky Baumchen. Diana is preceded in death by both parents, her brothers Charles Baumchen and Phillip Baumchen.
A Rosary will be held at Guardian Funeral Home and Cremation located at 5922 Crosstown Access Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78417 on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00AM. Following the Rosary, a Catholic mass will be held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church located in the chapel at 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 the same day at 12:00PM.
An inurnment with full military honors will be held at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, March 31, 2025 promptly at 2:00PM.
