Diamantina Olvera Trevino

Diamantina (Dee) Olvera Trevino transitioned to her new life in God's mansion on February 15, 2014. While on this earth she was an empitome of Christ to her children as a mother, wife, grandparent and friend. She retired from the nursing profession at Dr's Regional Hospital and continued ministering to all in her path with her gift of singing, dancing and love of God. Early in her ministry she was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic church. She served God's people as a Cursillista, Lector, and Guadalupana. In the autumn of her life, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church as a Lector and Choir member. Dee was a member of "The Abuelitas" a senior folklorico dance team and competed in the Coastal Bend Senior Pageant competitions. She loved till they very end as a "Foster Grandparent." She ran a good race until the Lord called her home. Diamantina was preceded to God's Kingdom by her parents, Manuel and Fidela Olvera, Sr., and her brother Manuel Olvera, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Tina Ovalle of San Antonio. Diamantina is also survived by her life partner and friend, Fermin Trevino,Jr. Diamantina and Fermin were blessed with: Gloria and (Manuel) Trevino, Blanca and (John) Flores, Mario Trevino, Mike Trevino, Abel and (Teresa) Trevino, and Mary and (Ron) Flores, She loved 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Guardian funeral home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic church, 710 S. 19th. St. All Services will conclude after the Mass.
