Obituary

Deanna Clarice Pekarek passed away and went to be with her lord Jesus Christ on September 19, 2019, at the age of 82.
Born in Kirksville, Missouri on February 16, 1937 to her parents Virginia and Elmer Diehl.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many; now spending eternity in her heavenly home.
Deanna was raised by her loving mother Virginia and her grandmother Young. She would later dedicate her life to the Lord and her family.
Deanna was very strong both physically and spiritually. She in turn taught her children to be strong, loyal, independent and caring. She fought many health battles during the last 32 years, and with the the Lords help battled and overcoming alcoholism and cigarette smoking. Deanna overcame cancer. Deanna had both rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis as well as chronic pulmonary respiratory disease. Deanna lived with a heart pacemaker for over ten years. In spite of having been in and out of hospitals for the later part of her life, she maintained trust in her God to take care of all her needs and remained light hearted and cheerful to those around her.
Dee always had a way of making people laugh, with her funny sayings and cute smile. She loved being a mother and took good care of her young children. She taught her children manners and encouraged them to participate in activities. She was a good listener and could always be relied on to provide sound advice to wait on the Lord for his leading. A perfect day for Deanna would be shopping in one of the finer department stores followed by a meal at one of the local eating establishments. Deanna enjoyed entertaining family and friends, and spent many years living in Marysville, California with her mother and father in law who would visit often.
Grammy Dee as she was affectionately called by her grandkids would plan out her week and ensure she had a ride to church to worship her Lord. It is impossible to try and capture all of the memories which she blessed us. The legacy she left behind through her children and grandchildren will live on for generations to come. We were so blessed to have her in our lives. We will miss her dearly but we will celebrate her life today, thank her for all the memories and count it a blessing the Lord has called home one of his own ending her suffering on earth.
Deanna leaves behind her devoted husband of over 64 years William Arthur Pekarek; beloved son: Kevin Young Pekarek, and beloved daughter Melody Lynn Ambler; grandsons: Christopher Ryan Guldin, Kirk Andrew Guldin, Aaron Young Pekarek, Andrew Douglas Pekarek, Paul Newsome Ambler, Matthew Alexander Besorio Pekarek and granddaughter Adona Develos Pierce; her loving brother Van Hulet Ray and sister Shirley Diehl Maier; and a host of other loving family members and countless friends whom she adored.
