Obituary

David R Villarreal, a beloved resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2024 at MD Anderson - Houston, at the age of 64. He was born on February 9, 1960, in his hometown of Corpus Christi, where he lived his entire life.

David had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies, including playing poker, darts, and pool. He had a deep appreciation for music from the 60s and 70s, Grupo Mazz and Little Joe and La Familia being among his favorite bands and musical artists. David also had a keen interest in positive affirmations, amethyst crystals, scripture, and astronomy.

However, David's true passion lied in helping others. As a car salesman for over 35 years, he dedicated himself to ensuring his customers' satisfaction and went above and beyond to assist them in finding their desired vehicles. He worked at dealerships such as Love Chrysler and Ed Hicks Nissan, forming lasting friendships along the way.

David cherished his role as a loving father to his sons: Gabriel Villarreal, Randel Villarreal, Adrian Ayala, and Anthony Ayala. He was also a doting grandfather to Rachel Cecilia Villarreal, Ezra Diego Villarreal, and Zoe Ayala.

In addition to his immediate family, David is survived by his sister, Nelda Villarreal Pulido. He will be fondly remembered for his hardworking nature, friendly demeanor, and positive attitude. David's impact on the lives of others was significant, with his customers placing great trust in his expertise and kindness.

David's spirituality played a crucial role in his life. He believed that incorporating God into daily life was essential and often sought solace through meditation, reciting affirmations, and praying for those he knew. One of his favorite quotes, "What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create," by Buddha, reflected his optimistic outlook.

As a lover of travel, David wanted to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in Southern France. When not working or spending time with his family, he could be found shooting pool, playing poker, or darts. His dedication to perfection shone through in all aspects of his life.

David R Villarreal will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his positive influence will continue to inspire. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his father, Estanislao G. Villarreal, and Mary L. Villarreal.

Public visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Guardian funeral home chapel with a Holy rosary and service to begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by shared memories of David.
