Obituary

David Roberto Rodriguez age 62, was called upon by God, to enter his eternal home, on September 19, 2024. David was born on April 27, 1962 in Seville, Spain to Sergio Julian and Manuela Valls.

A 1980 graduate of Mary Carroll High school, David later showed interest in a Business major where his extraordinary intelligence dove into courses such as Honors Calculus. Something he jokingly bragged about to his children, but with hopes that they acquired a knack for learning and attempting challenging things.

He was a prodigious learner as an avid reader, History extraordinaire and an overall open encyclopedia of knowledge. His life experiences that shaped him included a young boy's paper route, working the family restaurant, witnessing his father's work ethic and later, managing Sizzler restaurant. Then with almost 11 years of trade experience, he took a leap of faith and ventured out on his own.
He was proudly able to retired in May 2024 as owner of D&G Plumbing- building his 14-year business by starting with just a bucket and a truck.

David was an incredible and amazing husband to his wife Grace. For 28 years they built a strong, supportive and loving foundation based on faith, integrity, true love and commitment. He instilled hard work, dedication and an invaluable love for his children Michael Anthony, David Joseph and Alyssa Grace.

His passions were the Dallas COWBOYS, lighting up his custom COWBOYS BBQ pit, being out on his boat (fish biting or not) and movie nights with his COWBOYS blanket (star always facing up), his impressive selection of candy, and his family and pups by his side.

David had a loud passion for music that included many genres, always bowing his head in prayer and getting teary-eyed at TikTok weenie dog videos.

He was one big Poohbear whose heart bursted with love, compassion and generosity for every single person he encountered.
Quick to crack a joke that was always followed by his contagious laughter and amazing smile.  Full of life and always the life of the party! #facts

Left to cherish thousands of precious memories: THE CENTER of his world, his wife Grace Rodriguez. His best accomplishments- his children: David Joseph (Jasleen) Rodriguez and his princess Alyssa Grace Rodriguez. His biggest and best supporters: his little sisters, Patty (Wade) Perkins and Melissa (Alex) Gamez.  Along with his spoiled pup Miss CoCo(a) Chanel.

With matrimony, David also gained: a devoted mother-in-law that loved him as her own, Maria Colunga. Three brothers Gonzalo (Amy) Rodriguez, Frank (Michelle) Rodriguez and Brandon Valdez.  One sister, Stacey (Isaac) Salazar and a bonus mother-in-law, Anna Rodriguez.

A proud FUN-cle to 14 nieces and nephews: Haley, Jennifer, Kian, Emelia, Kaylie, Jayce, Destinee, Ritnee, Frankee, Courtnee, I'marie, Joel, Annastyn & Amethyst.

Along  with numerous (and hilarious) cousins, aunts & uncles who were second to none and fishing & bowling buddies he called his brothers- go Cosmic Crew!

Together these amazing people all helped stir up the craziness, instigate that quick-witted sense of humor, ignite the quirky jokes and multitude of "David-isms" he will be remembered for.  But mostly inspired David's gratitude for family.

David is preceded in death by his amazing parents, Mr. & Mrs. Sergio Rodriguez.  Maternal and Paternal grandparents, a son, Michael Anthony Ruiz and his father-in-law, Gonzalo Joel Rodriguez (whom he upheld his promise to; of taking the very best care of his daughter Grace).  His devoted dog Rolo and grand-dog Diesel.

*If you are reading this then you were a very special part of David's life. To know him was to know genuine friendship, authenticity and an extraordinary & inspiring human. He will be a tremendous void to all our lives but we move forward knowing that he's gone ahead, to prepare for our reunion one day.
