Darnelle Joy (Bluhm) Robbins, 78, went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 11, 2024, with loving family and friends by her side. She was the last of four children born to Julius and Pauline Bluhm of Chapman Ranch, Texas, on December 27, 1945. Darnelle spent most of her childhood living on Chapman Ranch.  She attended school in Corpus Christi and graduated from Mary Carroll High School.  After high school she attended Del Mar College. She spent most of her life in the Corpus Christi area, but also lived in other locations in Texas.  She loved the time she spent living in St. Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands.  Darnelle was a kind and giving soul, always ready to lend a helping hand.  She could be counted on to help with church events and provide prayer to those in need.  Darnelle supported several charities and believed in the work of missionaries spreading the Word in the U.S. as well as around the world. She was well known as a Great Prayer Warrior!  She was a very talented piano player and had a beautiful voice.  She often sang in church choirs as well as other special events.  And if you know Darnelle, you know she delighted in the wonder of Christmas!  Her tree always went up in October and stayed up until January.  Darnelle has enjoyed working her entire life.  She has had several employers throughout the years, with the latest at the accounting firm of Sam Ferris III, CPA. She was still working when she became ill just a short time ago.  She had planned to work until she was 80 and then look for something else to do!

Darnelle is survived by her sister, Wanda Faurie of Blanco, Texas, nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews and lots of family!  She loved her family and always enjoyed all our gatherings.

Darnelle is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Haas Bluhm, her father Julius M. Bluhm, her brothers Wilton and Dudley Bluhm, Evelyn Bluhm (sister-in-law) and Leslie Faurie (brother-in-law).

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Yorktown Baptist Church, 5025 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas.
