Obituary

Darla Kay Talbert, 63, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was called home to be with our Lord on June 19, 2025. Born on October 14, 1961, in Corpus Christi, Darla lived a life filled with compassion, joy, and unwavering faith.

Darla was the kind of person who lit up every room she entered — not with grand gestures, but with a quiet kindness, a generous spirit, and a heart that truly knew no bounds. She loved the ocean, where she found peace and beauty in God's creation. She delighted in dancing, singing, and sharing laughter with those she loved. Her presence was a blessing, and her love was a gift to all who knew her.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Alvin R. Keeney III (Bo), and a loving mother-in- law to Melissa A. Keeney. Her heart overflowed with pride for her grandchildren, Ariel M. Keeney and Lily Ann Keeney, and her great-grandson, Anakin R. Keeney. Every moment spent with them was a treasure she held dear.

Darla is also survived by her beloved spouse, Anthony "Tony" Dick; her sisters, Linda Essary and family, Judy Gillespie and family, and Rejeana Staton and family; and her niece, Donna Odum and family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Annie Talbert; her father, George Wiley Talbert; and her uncle, Daniel Hartford "Hart" Talbert.

Darla worked with strength and dedication throughout her life, never wavering in her commitment to those she served and loved. Her work ethic was unmatched, and her faith carried her through every season with grace.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Darla is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
