In Loving Memory of Daniel Campos Flores
August 6, 1949 – June 14, 2025
Daniel Campos Flores went to rest in the arms of the Lord on June 14, 2025, at the age of 75. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the home he built.
Born on August 6, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Daniel was the embodiment of hard work, humility, and quiet strength. From a young age, he understood the value of perseverance and dedicated his life to providing for his loving family and helping others whenever he could. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it and was known for being the hardest worker – never one to complain, cut corners or leave a job unfinished. Whether on a job site, around the house or helping someone, he showed up early, stayed late, and gave everything he had. His tireless work ethic set an example for all who knew him and earned the respect and admiration of everyone fortunate enough to work beside him.
A master carpenter and painter, Daniel took great pride in his craft and could build or fix just about anything with his hands and a sharp eye for detail. He especially took pride in teaching his grandchildren the tricks of his trade, passing down his knowledge and love of working with his hands. And when the job called for a creative solution, you could bet he had duct tape in his tool bag — because in his eyes, there wasn't much in life that couldn't be patched up with a little tape, determination, and a lot of Prayer!
A devoted Christian man, Daniel lived his faith through his actions—showing kindness, strength, and love in everything he did. He loved his family deeply and made sure they always knew it. He was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and a sense of humor that could light up a room. Some of the best memories of him are wrapped in the stories he shared — from wild tales of his childhood to his hilarious running commentary during sporting events.
Daniel was also a lifelong fan of westerns, often found relaxing with a classic film on the screen and a satisfied smile on his face. He especially loved to eat jawbreakers while watching his favorite westerns — a simple pleasure that brought him great joy and always made those moments even sweeter. His storytelling, full of laughter and life, will be missed more than words can express.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Angelina Flores; his brothers Ralph and Rick Flores; and his grandchildren Nathaniel and Danet.
Daniel is survived by the love of his life, devoted wife of 54 years, Esmeralda Flores; his daughters Melissa Warren and husband John, Danielle Maldonado and husband Roland, Alissa Armstrong and husband Brian, Rosemarie Flores; his son Jacob Daniel Flores; and his brothers David, Martin, and Michael Flores. He also leaves behind sister-in laws, brother- in law, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he loved deeply. Daniel was a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Guardian Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a Memorial Service Celebrating his life beginning at 11:00 AM.
