Cynthia Cantu, born December 6, 1965, in Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 3, 2026. She was 60 years old.
Cynthia was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt who cherished her family above all else. She had a special love for her nephews, whom she loved as her own, and her great-nephews, Elliott and Luca, who brought immense joy to her life. Cynthia treasured the time she spent with her family and will be remembered for her loving heart, warm sense of humor, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Humberto Cantu Sr.; maternal grandparents, Apolonio and Guadalupe Pedraza; paternal grandparents, Toribio and Isabel Cantu.
Cynthia is survived by her mother, Maricella Cantu; her brother, Humberto Cantu Jr.; her sister, Melissa Ramos (Albert); nephews, Troy Ramos (Sommer), Jacob Ramos (Morgan), Nathan Ramos, and Nicolas Ramos; and great-nephews, Elliott Ramos and Luca Ramos all from Corpus Christi, Texas.
Cynthia’s love for her family was at the heart of who she was. Though she is deeply missed, her love, laughter, and memories will remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all her nurses. Especially Muriel Gilbert from Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area ICU. Her compassion, gentleness, kindness, and the comfort she gave our family during such a difficult time will never be forgotten.
