Cynthia A. Bernal was called home on October 16, 2023 at the age of 56. Cynthia was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 23, 1966 to Richard and Yolanda Bernal.

Our beautiful Angel, Cindy, was born with an intellectual disability and muscular dystrophy. Our entire family is blessed to have had Cindy in our lives. Cindy was a pure and innocent soul who loved everyone she met. Cindy loved to dance, watch tv sitcoms, and play with her favorite doll, Lucy. She made all holidays memorable, especially Christmas, Easter, and her birthday; while she excitedly waited for a visit from Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. She was always happy, smiling, and a Daddy's Girl. Cindy taught us all how to love unconditionally. Our hearts are broken, but we will cherish our memories, until we are able to be with her again.

She is joined now in heaven by her maternal grandparents , Jose and Rosa Gonzalez and paternal grandparents , Celestino and Elvira Bernal.

She is survived by her parents , Richard and Yolanda Bernal; sisters , Yvette Bernal (Henry Espinosa) and Sonia Bernal; nephews , Richard Gonzalez, Michael Sean Gonzalez (Jessica), Anthony Gonzalez; niece , Bella Espinosa (Auddie), along with a host of extended members of the family whom she loved.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Yvonne Manalo and the entire staff of the Corpus Christi Medical Center – Bay Area for the gracious care they provided to our beloved Cindy. To her home health care providers, we thank each of you sincerely for the love you have shown to Cindy and our family through the years.

Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel A, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.; all funeral services will conclude at the church.
