Cruz Maria Perez, age 75, of Corpus Christi, passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2022.

She was born May 3, 1946 in Luperón Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, a daughter of the late Ramón Emilio Vargas and Ynéz Acevedo. At the age of 20, she moved to the United States where she lived the majority of her life.

Cruz Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Adan Palacios Perez; son, José Adan Perez; one brother, Artermio Vargas Acevedo; two sisters, Aura Vargas Acevedo and Dulce Maria Vargas Acevedo; and one granddaughter, Monica Rose Perez.

She was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witness Organization for 48 years .  She attended the Southeast Congregation where she met countless people who quickly became her second family.  All who knew her, knew of her unwavering faith and love of Jehova God.  Without falter, she demonstrated this until the very end.

For over 40 years, she was a business owner who served customers, family and friends  as a Hairdresser in her shop known as Princess Castle Beauty Salon.  Here many enjoyed great service, a friendly face and delightful camaraderie.   She was also known for her love of plants, her delicious cooking, and her boundless generosity.

She was a loving mother to her two children and the beloved Nana to nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Cruz Maria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Isabel Alicia Loftin and Arleigh Burke Loftin; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jonathan, Aaron, Vanessa, José, Brianna, Abigail, and Dannielle; several great grandchildren;  three brothers, Ramon Emilio Vargas Acevedo, José Joaquín Vargas Acevedo, Adam Rafael Vargas Acevedo; and three sisters, Thelma Vargas Acevedo, Iselsa Vargas Acevedo and Carmen Victoria Vargas Acevedo. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends that will greatly miss her.
