Obituary

Mrs. Cruz R. Colomo, 76, was called home to heaven and passed away on January 13, 2022. She was born on September 14, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Paulino & Refugia Ruiz. She attended Roy Miller high school and was a proud Buc!
She wanted to be remembered as a strong community champion and fierce advocate for women's empowerment.  She loved her City and the political process and was part of many political campaigns, organizations and committees.  Years ago she ran for City Council and had her own talk show (Punto de Vista) on KTMV.  She participated in numerous fundraisers, chamber events and was a true social butterfly.
She is survived by her husband Manuel Colomo;  daughters: Catherine (Jeffrey) Riojas, Crissy Colomo,  grandchildren: Jeffrey Paul & Justin Wyatt; sisters: Refugia (William) DeSantos and Janie (Albert) Herrera;
sister in law: Oralia (late Paulino Jr) Ruiz,  Annabelle (late Frank) Gonzalez. brother in law: George Colomo; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
The outpouring of love, support and prayers that everyone has sent to our family during this most difficult moment in our lives is overwhelmingly beautiful and comforting.
Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Guardian funeral home chapel "A" with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saratoga Blvd.  Burial will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery 9974 I.H. 37 North Access Rd.
