IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Coty De
Leon
June 7, 1930 – February 21, 2020
Coty De Leon passed away on February 21, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born on June 7, 1930 in Three Rivers, Texas to her parents Matias and Ercilia Velasquez.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many; now our Guardian Angel.
Coty was a devoted woman of God, who taught her children to be strong in their faith, to be kind, loyal, independent and caring. She was devoted and founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Flour Bluff, where she called home. Easter was always her favorite time of the year. She truly loved to make and decorate cascarones; as this was the hobby where she earned her gambling money! Often times she could be found with a smile on her face, sitting on a comfortable chair, enjoying a slot machine game; especially at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass.
Many family members and friends were blessed to receive one of Coty's special, hand embroidered, dish clothes; adorned with love. She gave to us many gifts of joy and happiness which will live in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; beloved partner of 25 years John Culver; brothers: Roberto Velasquez and Pete Velasquez.
Coty leaves behind to cherish her memories, children: Sylvia (Joe) De La Cruz, Helen (Mike) Huffman, Brenda (Steve) Aguilar, Felix DeLeon, Rick DeLeon, Henry (Becky) DeLeon, Sandra Goldsworthy, David DeLeon, Lisa (Kevin) Evans; grandchildren: Cindy, Eric, Naomie, Dylan, Danielle, Chanz, Derek, Brian, Josh G., Michael, Blaine, Anthony, Josh E., Cory, James, Brian, Christina; great-grandchildren: Braydon, Culver, Colton, Dreyt on, Easton, Aspen, Kameron, Jordan Nicole; siblings: Ida (David), Minnie (Alejandro +) Mayo (Mary), Chris; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she adored.
