Obituary

Consuelo A. (Chelo) Vega, age 87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 30, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 15, 1929 to Antonia and Lucio Aguilar. She was raised in Brownsville and moved to Corpus Christi in 1985. She worked as a retail office supervisor for over 40 years for S.H. Kress and Old America Store. A woman of great faith in God, she gave her life over to Jesus Christ at a very early age. She was a faithful member of El Buen Pastor U.M.C. in Brownsville where she was an elementary grades school teacher and church treasurer. In Corpus she was a faithful member of Kelsey Memorial United Methodist. She was a fervent believer in prayer, daily bible reading, singing hymns and witnessing to others of her love of God. She was a wonderful, loving mother who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Luis Chavez, both brothers Ernesto and Lucio. She is survived by her son, Michael C. Werbiski; two grandchildren, Audra (Brandon) Smith, Jason (Sandra) Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Layla D. Smith and Anthony J. Ramirez; a sister, Linda C. Rodriguez, brother Ernesto (Donna) Galvan and a very dear niece Ida Ruth Rodriguez, and many other nieces and nephews, and her constant companion Chihuahua, daisy angel.

A prayer service will be held at Guardian Funeral Home on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. the family will start accepting visitors at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday November 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Cemetery.
